6 Reasons why Less is More

Posted on 0

Less is more. A very true statement, so true that I’m going to jump straight into my 6 reasons why. Happy reading.

Less Complications, More Simplicity

You know I had to throw in my tag line! This refers to a mindset more than anything. I have learnt that when things start to get, or sound complicated, to take myself right back to the start and think “simple”. It’s easy to get flustered, to start worrying or overthinking and I found that I was thinking way to hard. Whatever the situation was, thinking “simple” was literally staring me in the face. Yet, we do this thing in life where sometimes we try and think too hard. Similar to a riddle, the answer is usually so simple that when you eventually figure it out, you can’t believe it, yet you spend so much time making it complicated. Go back to basics and try to simplify the situation and work it out.

Less Stress, More Happiness

All we truly want in life, is to be happy. Stress will alway be around and it can be difficult to stay away from. There are techniques that can help you deal with stress, which inevitably will bring you happiness. The less stress we have, will allow us to find true happiness in this world.

Less Stuff, More Space

This is one I am living by so badly right now! I’m currently in the middle of changing my room decor. You don’t realise how much stuff you have until you redecorate or move things around. It feels amazing to get rid of or donate things you no longer need. The space you can create is amazing. My no.1 tip for a de-cluttered look, are clear surfaces. Maybe an ornament or two, or a picture frame. Other than that, nothing else! It looks nicer and also a lot easier to clean, as you would only need to move a couple of things. I’ll be doing a blog post on my idea of a simple, de-cluttered bedroom, so you can get an idea of what I mean. Also having more space allows you to have a clearer mind and you feel a lot lighter within yourself, especially when you come home from a long day at work.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Some of us like to work hard. ALL THE TIME. There’s nothing wrong with that, however you can easily get caught up in doing too much and you end up realising that you could of got a lot more done if you had worked smarter. Referring back to my post The Art of Single-Tasking if you focus and really think about what you are doing in that moment, you will do it so much better. Don’t just do things for the sake of doing it. Ask yourself; Can I work smarter? and tell yourself Keep it Simple, Yeah?

Less Consuming, More Creation

I will be doing a blog post on this as welll, but for now let me explain. In this day and age, we consume so much. In good and bad ways. The way that the world works nowadays means that we see a lot more, we take in a lot more and we are doing a lot more.

Doing things which don’t have meaning, consuming a lifestyle that doesn’t benefit you in any kind of way. I’m referring to what you call, ‘bad’ consuming.

MORE CREATION! Spend your time wisely, pursue that idea you have, research, make notes, go, go, go!

In terms of the ‘good’ consuming, we may spend time looking at things that relate to our ideas or consume things that we find inspirational. This is great, however there comes a time and place where you need to put it into action. Spend some time doing some good consuming but make sure you spend more time creating!

Less Social Media Apps, More Howdoo

Check out my post De-clutter your social media, protect your personal data & make money? Sounds good to me. If you read that post, you’ll know why this is on the list.

If you’ve forgotten, this blog is as a reminder to you all, to keep it simple in life by doing small things to make a big difference.

Keep it Simple, Yeah?
